Additionally, Louis XIV celebrated his First Communion within its magnificent walls. Because of its grandeur and rich history, it's an exceptional setting for a lavish wedding ceremony.
Église de la Madeleine
If you've watched The Da Vinci Code, you probably remember La Madeleine. Located between Place de la Concorde, Place Vendôme, and Saint-Augustin Church, this iconic Parisian landmark was originally conceived as a temple celebrating the glory of Napoleon's army. Today, it stands as one of the city's most striking examples of Neo-Classical architecture, inspired by the grandeur of ancient Roman temples. As you admire its impressive façade, you'll notice its 52 majestic Corinthian columns, which give the monument its unmistakable presence.
Église Saint Augustin
Nestled near Boulevard Malesherbes, Saint-Augustin Church is one of Paris' most distinctive architectural landmarks.
Built between 1860 and 1868, it beautifully combines Tuscan Gothic and Romanesque influences in an eclectic design.
Moreover, the church was conceived as a visual counterpoint to La Madeleine, at the boulevard's opposite end.
As a result, its impressive 61-meter (200-foot) dome remains visible from the Arc de Triomphe.
