Château de Chantilly

Chantilly remains a beautifully preserved jewel where 19th-century elegance endures. Long home to princely dynasties—both close to and rivals of the royal court—the château hosted magnificent festivities. Molière premiered Les Précieuses ridicules there in 1659, and under the famed maître d’hôtel François Vatel, refinement reached its peak, giving rise to the world-renowned Chantilly cream.

Everything you need to know about Château de Chantilly

First and foremost, you’ll be getting married in one of France’s most iconic landmarks—its stunning architecture, elegant décor, and breathtaking gardens speak for themselves. Not to mention its period furniture, intact memories of the Duke of Aumale since the 19th century. You’ll have a truly fairy-tale wedding.

If you’re an art lover like me, you’ll be captivated by the meticulously designed galleries. The Duke of Aumale curated France’s second-largest collection of antique paintings, surpassed only by the Louvre.

The Château de Chantilly is located in Chantilly, Oise, in northern France, in the valley of the Nonette River. It sits 20 minutes from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and 40 km from Paris.
Access by car via A3/A1 motorways (exit “Chantilly”) or the D316/D317 roads.
Access by train from Gare du Nord with direct SNCF service to Chantilly-Gouvieux in 25 minutes, followed by free shuttle options (DUC, Bus 645 to Senlis, or the Navette Touristique, departing from platform A1).
It’s recommended to check train, bus, and shuttle schedules in advance.

The Château de Chantilly does not offer on-site accommodation, but the town of Chantilly and surrounding areas provide multiple lodging options. Visitors can enjoy charming hotels nearby, including luxury stays such as Auberge du Jeu de Paume, located close to the château and offering a high-end experience.

The estate offers various settings across the Château, its Grounds, and the Great Stables.
A highlight is the Maison de Sylvie, a 17th-century building with a French garden featuring delicate vegetable-lace designs. Inside, elegant salons include Sylvie, Théophile, Marie-Félice, Bourbon, and The Rotunda. The Bourbon salon opens onto the French garden and terrace with Asian-inspired décor, while The Rotunda offers a classic atmosphere with parquet floors, moldings, a crystal chandelier, and a marble fireplace.
At the Great Stables, the Dome provides a majestic amphitheater setting for unforgettable ceremonies.

  • Capacity varies by space and event style, ranging from 10 to 2,400 guests.
Rental hours are limited to respect the château’s public opening schedule; availability must be checked in advance.
Wedding photos are permitted exclusively on the château grounds. For non-professional equipment, the fee is €380 for the couple and photographer; additional guests must purchase a “Grounds” admission ticket.

The Château works with a selection of trusted catering partners and provides dedicated catering facilities within its venues to support seamless event logistics.
